Tell HN: I know Firefox has update when it starts to glitch

I keep browser open forever on my media center. Everytime it starts to glitch when opening pages, I restart it, and voila, there is a new tab with "whats new".

Amazing really! I don't even want to know the reasons...

Agreed. Happens on my personal Linux machines (debian based), but not my work Mac. Has for years I think.

Does that to me to (Linux Mint) I notice most on youtube it doesn't like loading new videos or pages when an update is out there.

Don't use Firefox, use Zen Browser[1] instead. It's based on Firefox but has a modern UI/UX, it's optimised for speed, has better privacy defaults, and no AI crap.

Interesting. I know Firefox has an update because I used my system package manager to update it.

Maybe it's something I did, but lately, Firefox won't write "print to pdf" files to external drives. (mac)

There was an update last night, Oops, same deal. No message, no file.

    Writes to the Documents directory.

I do have lots of extensions and window manager tweaks going on, though I cleared history yesterday.

What version are you on now?

Edit: I ask because releases are scheduled in advance, you can see the calendar here: https://whattrainisitnow.com/calendar/
